Steve Deckard to Assume New Role as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development
Tracey Herrmann Promoted to Executive Vice President of Store Operations
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) announced today that Steve Deckard, the Company’s executive vice president of store operations and development, has accepted a new role focused on the expansion of Dollar General’s national footprint, corporate wide process improvement and leadership of its strategic initiatives. Tracey Herrmann has been promoted to executive vice president of store operations. Both Deckard and Herrmann’s new roles were effective as of February 1, 2025.
In his most recent position, Deckard, who began his Dollar General career in 2006 as a regional director of stores, oversaw DG’s operations team including Dollar General retail stores, Mi Súper Dollar General in Mexico, corporate store operations, asset protection and real estate. Prior to that role, he led the Company’s international expansion into Mexico and several strategic initiatives including pOpshelf as DG’s EVP of growth and emerging markets. Additionally, Deckard has held roles of increasing responsibility across various DG departments.
“During Steve’s more than 19 years at Dollar General, his experience has spanned store operations, asset protection, real estate, financial planning as well as growth and emerging markets,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief executive officer. “As he played a critical role in the strategic expansion into Mexico as our first international market, I am confident his extensive knowledge of our business and its operations make him uniquely qualified for this new role as executive vice president of strategy and development.”
As executive vice president of store operations, Herrmann will now lead Dollar General’s field operations teams responsible for operating the Company’s more than 20,000 stores across 48 states. Most recently, Herrmann served as senior vice president of store operations leading three divisions of DG stores in the southeast. Previously, she oversaw strategy and operations for the Company’s pOpshelf stores as SVP of channel innovation and has served in multiple senior leadership roles in merchandising, pricing and operations.
“Tracey's drive for operational excellence and innovation during her impressive 12-year career at Dollar General will ensure our continued evolution in an increasingly competitive retail landscape,” continued Vasos. “Her commitment to our mission coupled with her dedication to the brand will help deliver the best store experiences for our customers and employees.”
