Dollar General Ranks No.98 on 2013 InformationWeek Magazine’s Top 500

Major Retailer’s Information Technology Team Recognized for Superior Innovation

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dollar General (NYSE: DG) today announced it ranked no. 98 on this year’s InformationWeek magazine’s top 500 information technology innovators in the U.S. This is Dollar General’s first time to be included in the rankings. Dollar General earned its top 100 ranking for implementing successful initiatives to better leverage technology to improve business processes, enhance access to data across the enterprise and drive business growth. Specifically, the Dollar General IT team implemented systems to strengthen information sharing and collaboration with vendors, improve inventory management and enhance scheduling and efficiencies in its store operations.
